Blinkit marketing · Answer
The short answer
Blinkit ads run on Brand Central, Blinkit's self-serve ad platform, and any brand with a live catalogue on Blinkit can use it. There are eight ad formats, from search and shelf placements to banners and brand stores. You pay per click or per impression depending on the format, with no fixed minimum budget, and you can target by city, by shopper group and by time of day. The ads only pay off in cities where your product is actually in stock, so plan the targeting around your stock.

Brand Central is where brands run sponsored placements across Blinkit's app: search, category pages, recommendations and brand stores. You connect your catalogue once, pick a campaign type for your goal, set the budget and targeting, and launch.
There's no fixed minimum. You set a daily budget and bids, and pay per click or per impression depending on the format. Blinkit's own advice is to start small and scale on ROAS.
Blinkit lists eight: Prime Banner, Product Booster, Recommendation Ads, Product Shelf, Brand Spotlight, Brand Store, E-com Shelf and Listing Spotlight. Some push a product to a shopper who's already searching, and others build awareness on the home and category screens.
Start with the formats that put a product in front of someone searching for its category. They're the easiest to judge on orders. Add the banner and brand formats once you know which products sell when they're seen.
Quick commerce delivers from local stock. An ad shown in a city where your product isn't available spends money on a buyer who can't order it. Blinkit lets you target from all of India down to a single city, so match the targeting to where your stock is, city by city.
Time-of-day targeting is the other lever. Snacks, drinks and household items sell at different hours, and bids that follow those hours waste less.
Blinkit's reports show impressions, clicks, conversions, ROAS and brand search lift, and let you compare paid with organic sales side by side. Use that comparison. A brand that already sells well organically in a city can end up paying for orders it would have got anyway.
Put more money behind the campaigns that add orders on top of organic sales. A good-looking ROAS on its own proves very little.
Zepto and Swiggy Instamart sell ads to brands too, and the same rules apply: advertise where you're in stock, judge on orders you wouldn't have had anyway, and plan budget by city.
One product line in a few cities is easy to run yourself. Outside help earns its fee when you sell across Blinkit, Zepto and Instamart as well as Amazon or Flipkart, and need one plan for where each rupee goes.
We run Blinkit and other quick commerce ads for brands on a monthly retainer or on revenue share, where the fixed fee is 50% of our usual rate plus a share of marketplace revenue.
