AJIO and Nykaa ads agency: when should a brand hire one?
A fashion or beauty brand should hire an AJIO and Nykaa ads agency only when the listing, stock and brand approvals are already in place. What an ads agency covers, what it cannot fix, and five questions to ask first.
A fashion or beauty brand should hire an AJIO and Nykaa ads agency when its products are already live on the platform, in stock, and selling at least a little without ads. If your listings are not approved or your stock is thin, an agency cannot fix that with ads. The agency runs the ads. It does not run your catalogue or your inventory.
That one line decides most of the question.
An ads agency cannot fix a weak listing
On AJIO and Nykaa the buyer lands on your product page, not on your website. If the photos are poor, the title is vague or the size or shade range is broken, more clicks turn into more bounces. Ads send traffic to the listing you have. Fix the listing first, then pay for traffic.
Some agencies sell AJIO and Nykaa as a full channel: onboarding, catalogue, pricing, inventory and ads. Others sell only the advertising layer. Both are fine, as long as you know which one you are buying. We run the ads. We do not run onboarding, catalogue or inventory, and we say so before you sign.
AJIO and Nykaa are two different buyers
AJIO shoppers browse fashion and compare on price and style. Nykaa shoppers search for a product type, a skin concern or a shade. The same creative and the same budget split rarely work on both. An agency that treats them as one "fashion and beauty" channel will average two different results into one number.
Ask which platform the agency would start you on, and why. A good answer names your category, not a template.
Hire an agency when you sell on several platforms at once
One brand on one platform with a small catalogue is easy to run yourself. Both platforms give brands their own ad tools, and the setup is not hard.
The work gets harder when the same brand sells on AJIO, Nykaa, Myntra, Amazon and its own site. Then the question is where each rupee should go, and someone has to compare them on the same profit per order. That is the case where one team running all of them earns its fee.
Ask for paid orders next to organic orders
Ad dashboards report orders that came through an ad click. Some of those buyers would have found you anyway. Ask the agency to show paid and organic orders for the same product and the same week, so you can see which orders the ads added.
Ask for the agency fee on a separate line from the ad budget
Your ad budget goes to the platform. The fee goes to the agency. Ask for both numbers, written separately, and ask what the fee covers.
Our own plan: a fixed fee of ₹25,000 a month plus GST, which is half our usual rate, plus 5% to 10% of marketplace revenue, set per brand. That fee covers ads on every platform we run for you, including AJIO and Nykaa. Additional services cost extra.
Five questions to ask before you hire an AJIO and Nykaa ads agency
- Do you run only the ads, or also catalogue and inventory? Get the answer in writing.
- Which platform would you start with for my category, and why?
- Can you show paid and organic orders side by side for one product and one week?
- Who owns the ad account and the reports, and can I see them without asking?
- Do you also run my Myntra, Amazon and Flipkart ads, and can you show all of them on one profit number?
What this means for you
If your listings are live and in stock and you sell on several platforms, hire an agency that runs all of them. If your listing is the problem, fix that first. If you have one small line on one platform, run it yourself for a month and keep the reports.
