Flipkart marketing · Answer

How much commission does Flipkart charge?

The short answer

Flipkart's commission is charged per category and commonly runs from around 2 to 5 percent at the low end, such as mobiles, up to about 22 percent at the high end, such as jewellery. Commission is only one of four deductions though. Every order also carries a fixed closing fee, a shipping fee and a collection fee, with GST at 18 percent applied on top of all four.

How much percent does Flipkart take from sellers?

The commission percentage alone is the wrong number to plan with, because it is roughly half the story. Four separate fees come off each order.

Commission, a percentage set by sub-category. A fixed closing fee, set by price slab and seller tier. A shipping fee, set by weight and delivery zone. A collection fee for payment processing. Then 18 percent GST on the total of those four.

Two products in the same category at different price points can therefore keep very different shares of the sale price, because the fixed fees do not scale.

How to calculate the commission fee on Flipkart

Commission itself is simply final sale price multiplied by the category rate. The useful calculation is the full one: sale price, minus commission, minus fixed closing fee, minus shipping fee, minus collection fee, minus GST on that total, minus your product cost. What is left is the contribution margin your advertising has to come out of.

Flipkart publishes a rate card and a fee calculator in Seller Hub, and several third-party calculators exist. Use the Seller Hub one, because it is the one that reflects your account.

Does Flipkart charge commission on products under ₹1,000?

Low-priced items are treated differently from high-priced ones, and the treatment is set through the price slab structure rather than by a single blanket rule. Flipkart also periodically runs reduced or zero commission on particular categories: fashion has been reported at zero percent commission from July 2026.

Rates and slabs are revised by sub-category regularly, and any published figure ages badly. Check your own rate in Seller Hub under fee structure before you price inventory. That includes checking it against the numbers on this page.

Is Flipkart free for sellers?

Listing and registration carry no upfront charge, so getting on the platform is free. Selling is not. The fees above come out of every order, and for a thin-margin product they can be the difference between a business and a hobby.

Work the full deduction stack out before you list, not after your first settlement report.
